On January 30, 2001 the International Suzuki Association (Chairperson Hiroko Suzuki) held its annual meeting in Tokyo, Japan. The association once again recognizes the Taiwan Suzuki Association (Chairperson Mary Ko) as the only legal representative of International Suzuki Association in Taiwan.

　Furthermore, the Taiwan Suzuki Association is the only legal organization recognized by the Department of Interior Affairs of the Republic of China to conduct the Suzuki teaching method.

　On July 2, 2001 the International Suzuki Association Chairperson Hiroko Suzuki signed an agreement with the Taiwan Suzuki Association Chairperson Mary Ko for cooperation and development.

　 The International Suzuki Association under Mr. Fuji was successful in prosecuting a trademark infringement case brought against the LAN-KU CHEN Suzuki Method. 　Mr. Chen is a Violin teacher of a Taipei Private University and art College who registered his trademark as LAN-KU CHEN Suzuki Method.`` three years ago. The Taiwan courts found that the LAN-KU CHEN Suzuki Method had broken international trademark laws.

　The 14th Suzuki World Convention is held from April the 12th to the 17th in Torino, Italy. Twenty seven countries participate in the event.

　 Two students from TSA and two students from TERI ( Japan ) are elected to represent Asia in such a significant event, they distinguish themselves by by Gala cocertⅠ＆Gala concertⅡwith Teatro Regio Symphony Orchestra and RAI National Symphony Orchestra.

1. 2007 Suzuki Friendship Concert would be held on the 28th of December at ZhongShan Hall.
• The conductor of TSA String Orchestra would be the instructor of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Mr. Yoichi Hattori.
• Ivy Huang, the representative of flute committee suggested to arrange the length of the concert.
2. 2007 Suzuki Piano Concert would be held on the 23rd of December at Taipei EYE.
   • YuYing Niu, the representative of piano committee reported that TSA Piano Concert would be held on the 23rd of December, from1 to 5pm.
   • The meeting date of the piano concert would be announced in the near future.
3. Suzuki Open Seminar
   TSA arranged free open seminars at Shin Fong Branch on the 1st of March, at the National Taichung University on the 20th of March, and at TaoUan Branch on the 30th of March.
4. Suzuki activities in other countries
   The 51st Grand Concert would be held on the 28th of March in Japan.
   The total number of TSA members assigned for attending this event is 29, which is out of the limit set by TSA.
   • Yoshihiko Terada, the representative of cello committee informed that he would be invited the representatives of violin, piano and flute committee to a dinner on the 27th of March in Tokyo.The 3rd ASA Conference would be held in the Philippines from the 3rd to the 7th of May.
   • Attending Fee (payable to the Suzuki Association of the Philippines): Teacher: USD 220 ,Student: USD 200
   • Mrs. Arambulo has phoned and left a message to express that due to the lack of attendance of ASA Conference, she hoped Ms. Ko could ask students to participate in the conference and also invited TSA instructors to be the faculty of the conference.
   • TSA flute teacher Ivy Huang and some TSA parents informed that they also received the calls from Mrs. Arambulo to ask them if they could participate in ASA conference and perform in the GALA Concert. Due to the dates of the conference are not the holidays or any breaks of schools in Taiwan; it would be difficult to attend the conference. Ms. Huang and parents replied that they could not participate in the activities held in the Philippines.
   • Ms. Ko informed that TSA violin teacher Mr. Chang has received the invitation from Mrs. Arambulo in Septmember, 2005 and has already replied that he would focused on the works in Taiwan and would temporary be unable to participate in any foreign activities.
5. TSA Legal Adviser
   TSA legal adviser informed that during the past year no reply has been received from ASA Korean Administrative office and Mr. Jeong Choul Woong and Mr. Kyung Ik Hwang. TSA committee strongly thinks Korean Administrative office should reply as soon as possible.

   Ms. Kao (piano) would in charge of administrative affair. Mr. Lin (violin), Ms. Huang (flute) and Mr. Terada (cello) would assist as volunteers.
7. Next meeting time:
   The next meeting of the committee would be held on Mar. 27, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan. ( YuYing Niu, piano, Ivy Huang, flute, Frank Lin, violin and Yoshihiko Terada, cello)
